P&C News and Events

Welcome to the Tempe High School Parents and Citizens Association (P&C). This friendly group of parents works closely with the school to support the students and teachers to enhance our children's high school experience.

P&C Activities

Our P&C supports the school, students and staff in a range of ways. More recently, our activities have included:

Year 12 well-being events spread across the year focus on the student's well-being in their final year of school
The ensemble committee supports our school's music department in delivering seven ensembles
The learning support committee has arranged additional laptops, iPads, NESA approved calculators, C-pens and loop earbuds
Grants obtained by the P&C have contributed to improved infrastructure across the school, including covered walkways, a yarning circle, shade structures and water stations
Year 7 parent and carer welcome function
End-of-year student encouragement and achievement gift vouchers
End-of-year coffee van for staff

P&C Advocacy

For THS parents and carers, advocacy is another way we can contribute to and collectively support our school. When required, we organise letters to the government to advocate for better salaries and workloads, which would encourage more teachers to join and stay in the profession. We also campaign for better funding for public schools. Throughout the year, several parents represent the parent community on teacher selection panels and regional school panels.

P&C Meetings

The Tempe High School P&C meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 7pm during the school term in the school library. All parents and carers are welcome.

We try and keep the meetings short and informative. The meetings are a great way to meet the Principals and teachers and find out what's happening in the school. Each month we have guest speakers and focus on topics that are of interest to our parent body.
