Career advice and post school transition
Tempe High School has a qualified, experienced and dedicated careers adviser who leads programs across the school and provides personal transition support to students. The careers adviser provides a range of services for students, including individual career counselling to assist students to make well informed decisions and support their journey at and beyond school.

School to work
The NSW Department of Education’s School to Work program has four key action areas:
- Supporting students to develop and manage their career planning in consultation with the Careers Adviser.
- Exploring future careers.
- Providing students with opportunities to experience current and future workplaces, in real life or virtually.
- Building connections and networks for students.
At Tempe High School, the careers advisor coordinates:
- Individual work experience opportunities for students
- EVET enrolments and attendance monitoring for senior students.
- White card training.
- Job Interview Day (in collaboration with the PDHPE faculty).
- Year 10 work experience.
Individual career/pathway counselling is available for:
- Subject Selection.
- Applications for casual work, resume and assistance with job interviews.
- TAFE course information.
- University course applications via UAC.
- University Early entry program information and applications.
- General career, course and employment related advice.

The Careers Office is located in D block, Level 1. Students can book appointments or drop in Monday to Friday 8:00am to 3:30pm during school term.
