Bell times and attendance
Our school day is structured around a clear timetable. We have set times for learning sessions, activities and lunch. Understanding the bell times helps students get the most out of each part of the day.
Students can access their current timetable through the Sentral Student Portal. Parents and careers can access their child's timetable through the Sentral Parent Portal.
It's important for students to arrive on time each day. If your child is running late, please contact our front office.

Lateness to school expectations and procedures
The school aims to build a culture where students are respectful of learning time and that includes high expectations around attendance and repeated instances of lateness. It is important for students to realise that punctuality is a sign of respect for others but may also have future consequences for them as they enter the world of work. Every day matters for your child’s learning. Parents play an important role in ensuring Tempe High School students get to and stay in school every day.

Extended leave
Application for Extended Leave and Certificate of Extended Leave forms are required when a student will be absent from school for more than three (3) days.
Families are encouraged to travel during school holidays. If travel during school term is necessary, discuss this with your child's school principal. An 'Application for Extended Leave - Travel' may need to be completed. Absences relating to travel will be marked as leave on the roll and, therefore, contribute to your child's total absences for the year.
Students are required to complete the 'Application for Extended Leave - Student Form' with their teachers to ensure continuity of learning in their absence.
