DATE: 10/04/2025 06:30pm - 09:30pm
Description: Each year \;Tempe High runs a theatre club. This is an opportunity for students to attend 4 plays at Belvoir St Theatre (https://belvoir.com.au/) at a HUGELYdiscounted price ($25 per ticket) The students also have the opportunity to meet students from other inner west schools and attend question and answer sessions with actors and directors after each show. This is our third year running it and each year it proves very popular amongst students. Students do not need to be studying Drama to sign up for this opportunity as it'\;s open to all students at the school in Years 10-12.Parents - Theatre is an excellent opportunity to give your child experiences that improvetheir empathy, understanding of the world, emotional intelligence, narrative skills and critical thinking. I also find that the social aspect oftheatre club allows for students to grow in confidence and develop skillsaround navigating social spaces. \;Students - It is a lot of fun andgroups of friends often sign up to do this together. It will help you withunderstanding content from CAPA subjects, English, History and more!Important information:- There are only 28 student tickets available. If you cannot attend one of the DATEs and times it is your responsibility to finda replacement person (Ms Byrnes can help recommend students) and they willpay you the $25 (no refunds will be given from the school).- Students meet staff at Belvoir St Theatre and are dismissed from the venue afterwards(staff will wait with them until parents arrive. If you want your child tocatch public transport, please indicate this on the EOI form) \;- There is a Google Classroom set up for all who sign up which includes reminders, DATEs, times, pick up times, info on the plays and what to expect. \;- The plays and times we will see theatre are:Big Girls Don'\;tCry - Thursday 10th April 7:00pm https://belvoir.com.au/productions/big-girls-dont-cry/The Wrong Gods - Tuesday 20th May 6:30pm https://belvoir.com.au/productions/the-wrong-gods/Grief is the thing - Tuesday 12th August 6:30pmhttps://belvoir.com.au/productions/grief-is-the-thing-with-feathers/Meow Meow'\;s The Red Shoes - Tuesday 14th October 6:30pm https://belvoir.com.au/productions/meow-meows-the-red-shoes/- Tickets are $25 per show but you will be invoiced $100 for the year upfront.
