Consistent attendance improves student outcomes, increases career options, and helps students build relationships and confidence. At Tempe High School, we value student attendance and support students through our wellbeing programs to maximise their attendance so they can achieve at their personal best.
Every day matters for your child’s learning. Parents play an important role in ensuring Tempe High School students get to and stay in school every day. To support families, the department has produced a detailed resource, which can be accessed here.
Students can access their current timetable through the Sentral Student Portal. Parents and careers can access their child's timetable through the Sentral Parent Portal.
An SMS notification is sent every day of a student's absence. Parents and careers can track their child's attendance patterns through the Sentral Parent Portal and an attendance report is provided to parents each semester.
Application for Extended Leave and Certificate of Extended Leave forms are required when a student will be absent from school for more than three (3) days.
Families are encouraged to travel during school holidays. If travel during school term is necessary, discuss this with your child's school principal. An 'Application for Extended Leave - Travel' may need to be completed. Absences relating to travel will be marked as leave on the roll and, therefore, contribute to your child's total absences for the year.
Students are required to complete the 'Application for Extended Leave - Student Form' with their teachers to ensure continuity of learning in their absence.
