Australian Geography Competition Begins

Description: The2025 Australian Geography Competition is a contest for Australian secondary school students, assessing their geographical knowledge and skills. The competition aims to encourage student interest in geography and reward student excellence. The competition will be held in school online, from Wednesday 7th May to Wednesday 21st May.Students will have 30 minutes to answer multiple-choice and cloze questions, based on the content of the Australian Curriculum. It is open to all students, Years 7-12, whether theyare studying Geography this year or not. Students in 7W, 7B, 7Y, 9W, 9B, and 9Y Geography will participate in the competition during class time. All other students will be completing the competition during Period 5 onWednesday 14th May.All participants will receive results and certificatesfor their portfolios. Prizes will be distributed to the highest performing students in each state and combined territories, in each year level.Theentry fee per student is $5, which must be paid online by Friday 14th March for your child to participate and receive a certificate. A signed permission note is also required. This event is non-refundable, as entry feesare paid in advance.
